I am 55 and have a micro prolactinoma. My naturopath suggested vitex to balance the prolactin but wasn't sure if it would decrease the tumor. From your experience, did the vitex decrease the tumor as well? I am not too concerned about the prolactin elevation itself as I am passed the childbearing years - unless the elevated prolactin levels create other issues. I am mainly hoping to shrink the tumor size naturally.anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15321283990842057290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380854784506873581.post-7834158257195998452013-06-03T22:24:21.993-06:002013-06-03T22:24:21.993-06:00Did you post this before or after we talked??? You will not have extra tax since doTERRA has an office in the UK. The website you can use for the UK is http://www.doterra.com/uk/. If you want a 25% discount, you can pay a membership fee (€20.00) and get the 25% off everything you order. It is well worth it especially if you will be ordering the Frankincense often. All you need to do it click "join" in the top right hand corner. Select "Europe/other" as your country and then "join as an independent product consultant". On the next page you will put in 18614 as the enroller ID (me)and fill everything else out as normal. If you have other questions, you can email me at shyanne.Hathaway@gmail.com :) I will get to it faster that way! I hope this helps you as much as it has helped me!!! You have such an interesting and informative page. I will be looking forward to visit your page again and for your other posts as well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about pituitary tumor.
The posterior lobe (the neural lobe or neurohypophysis) of the pituitary gland is not, despite its name, a true gland. The posterior lobe contains axons of neurons that extend from the hypothalamus to which it is connected via the pituitary stalk. The hormones vasopressin and oxytocin, produced by the neurons of the supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei of the hypothalamus, are stored in the posterior lobe and released from axon endings (dendrites) within the lobe.
Because the pituitary gland is responsible for the production of hormones key to proper body function, tumors often interfere with this production—either by limiting the amount of hormone produced or generating excessive amounts. Growth hormone (regulates body height and structure), prolactin (controls lactation, or milk production), sex hormones (control the menstrual cycle and other sexual functions), thyroid gland hormones (control the thyroid gland), adrenal gland hormones, and vasopressin (a hormone involved in water and electrolyte balance) are all examples of hormones that can be affected. Growing tumors can also push on surrounding structures, often resulting in headaches, behavioral changes, and vision problems.

pituitary tumorAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14153776053756305209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380854784506873581.post-21389471553967302982012-09-27T00:14:40.207-06:002012-09-27T00:14:40.207-06:00I've been reading and wondering.

After 14 or 15 months, my level was down to about 6.
I had unexplained side effects the first 2 weeks of taking bromocriptine - depression in the worst way. After those 2 weeks, I had no discernible side effects.
I hate admitting it, but when I ran out of money to fill my presp. in Canada and could not scrape up the money for the required MRI, I abruptly stopped taking bromocriptine. It has been over a month now. I had hoped to get a new prescription filled. But I now doubt I will.
I found this site today and have found the sharing very informative. Thank you.
I will be back.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380854784506873581.post-64479792466283946552012-07-25T16:50:28.791-06:002012-07-25T16:50:28.791-06:00I"m so happy I found this blog. Unfortunately, I have been turn down for medicaid multiple times and can not afford medical treatment. But i do show every symptom of prolactinoma. I have not had a Cycle for about 3 years now and I randomly lactate. Never have I been on any medications or birth control and I never plan too. It seems impossible for me to conceive and I am losing my libido. :( I feel it there and I feel its time to naturally fix this. What do you think? Do you think I should attempt natural healing methods even though I have not been diagnosed? Your blogs have enlightened me much and I thank you! Have you looked into having Reiki done? I have heard many good things.. Thanks to your...I want to thank you for this blog. Thanks to your blog I have my own page on Pituitary Adenomas on Facebook and am starting on Frankincense oil. May I add a suggestion? It dawned on me that since the tumor is so close to the sinuses and many medicines are administered that way that I took a dab of doterra oil and put it on my finger and stuck it way up my nostrils. Yes, just like a medicine would absorb. Since the tumor is pretty much located in that area (past the sinuses) I hope I have success with that modality. I just thought of that on my own and I hope it helps. I just got diagnosed a month ago but only thing mine is doing is suppressing my cortisol levels, but they are dangerously low and possibly causing secondary Addison's disease. I wish that the tumor would dissolve on its own rather than have surgery but I've been bed-ridden for quite some time now. I do not feel well at all. My right eye was slightly affected when they did the visual field exam. My tumor is approximately 5x5 mm in size. They said it was too small to operate on? Do you think this is a correct statement? I had to push for the scan, as I suspected the tumor. Thank goodness I did! I wish you well and will continue to visit your page.Patriciahttps://www.facebook.com/PituitaryTumorsAdenomasAPersonalAndPublicJourneynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380854784506873581.post-1736094135634304652012-05-17T18:14:52.671-06:002012-05-17T18:14:52.671-06:00Glad to hear that it has gone down! As far as the oil burner goes, make sure it doesn't heat the oils up very much or they will lose most of their potency. Heat changes the chemical make up and renders them almost useless. Anyway, keep up the good work and keep me posted on your progress :) I'd love to hear!Shyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17838487403726282960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380854784506873581.post-39393098513273653442012-03-10T03:44:21.304-07:002012-03-10T03:44:21.304-07:00Thank you for your blog and glad to hear that thin...Thank you for your blog and glad to hear that things are going well for you. Thanks to you I began using Frankincense and found it has helped considerably with my anxiety, but don't know if it has helped yet with shrinking the tumour. I have just introduced basil and rosemary and am currently using them in an oil burner as not yet managed to get a pendant. I am currently taking Quinagolide half a table every other day as when I stopped my levels completely (was on one 75 tablet daily) went up to over 2000 again, although I wasn't using the oils then. Endo let me have a trial without them last Sep (they cause nausea) as my levels had gone down to 21. my appointment has been moved from Feb to July! so wont be getting my blood tests until then. Whatever the outcome the oils definitely make me feel better emotionally and help me to lead a normal life.debbieann81https://www.blogger.com/profile/00193147233601411430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380854784506873581.post-76579453414486453952012-03-07T15:10:02.605-07:002012-03-07T15:10:02.605-07:00I cannot believe that! That is the last thing I would do, but I am very very scared to death of surgery, so I may be biased! Haha! I would be very interested to know what website you were on that talked about the food that lowers prolactin. Will you send it to me at hyperprolactinoma@gmail.com ?
Also, yes, it is fine to let your dr. know of your plans, but you should know that he will try to talk you out of it! They do not understand natural/alternative means and so will discourage you from doing it. Your view of drs is pretty much how I feel for them. Just know, they tell everyone the same thing….medicine or surgery. They don’t understand that there are other things out there that can help. I would love to hear what you plan on doing.
