I'm hoping to learn as much about my condition as possible and hopefully help others along the way.

It's a good day :)
Got up early and did some studying! Tracked down my crazy Houdini Mutt and put her back where she belongs. Went walking w/ my friend and our babies. Came back and got ready for the day. Went to some meetings, visited with my sister in law, ran errands and came "home" (living w/ my other sis-in-law since our house flooded w/ sewage a few weeks ago!) Put laundry in to wash, picked up our basement living area, made and ate lunch. Fed my baby, played with my baby and put him down for a nap. Now he is napping, I've been running around like crazy and I have a minute to myself and I think about all I've done today and I think to myself, "I haven't had this kind of energy in years....I haven't had a headache in weeks.....and I have have lots to do still, and enough energy, motivation and no headache to hold me back! What a good day!" Hope all of you are having a good day as well :) Gotta go while the gettin is good!

Ignorance is bliss???? I strongly disagree!!!
Ok, It's been over a week since I posted anything and part of that may be because I am on cloud 9 and I have caught myself daydreaming about more babies and happy thoughts like that a lot lately! Does anyone else put off dreams and goals when you don't know what the future will bring??? I hate not having hope! It seems like there is no fence sitting on this w/ me! I either have hope and I am happy and excited about the future or I am sad/frustrated/grumpy that things are not going the way I had envisioned them! I am very passionate and I am a control freak! Not over other people, but over me, my thoughts and feelings and my life! I HATE not having control over my future, I want it to be what I want it to be. This is why I hate debt, working for people, time constraints/schedules, rush hour traffic and health problems. This is why I struggled w/ getting married and why I disliked dating back when I was single. I hate taking prescriptions or medications of any kinds because "it will make you drowsy", or "do not drive while taking this" or "don't take this while pregnant or breastfeeding", and last but not least "if you take this it may lead to high blood pressure, stuffy nose, liver damage......etc". I have not idea why I hate parking garages...but there has to be something about them that takes away my free will!!! ha ha! I love the great outdoors and sleeping under the stars! I love going to my hometown where I have no cell service! I love my husband because he doesn't force me into some mold and expect me to do things his way or the way everyone else does it. I love exercising because it allows me to push myself to new levels! I love vaulted ceilings and back porches. I love looking out at the ocean, rock climbing and hiking. I love not wearing a watch and having no idea what time it is. I also love learning because the more I learn, the more I am not constrained by ignorance!
This being said here are some things I've been learning in the past few weeks (do not continue if you can't stand somewhat boring/nerdy stuff. It is very informative though!!!):
Most Prescription drugs and over the counter (and under the counter for that matter! )medications contain one, two or even three constituents that help w/ certain things. For example amoxicillin contains 3 constituents that help us get over certain bacterial infections. It is antibacterial. Essential oils* have dozens of constituent which is why one oil may be good for so many different things! For example lavender has hundreds of constituents which makes it antinflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitumor, antifungal, antidepressant...etc. Which in a nutshell means it helps everything from burns to cuts to depression! How cool is that!
The Frankincense I take* contains 90% Monoterpenes (including myrcene and limonene) which are antitumor and anticancer constituents (as well as other things). The other 10% contains Sesuiterpenes which help oxygenate the pituitary glands and are anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic. So instead of taking hormone regulators such as bromocriptine or cabergoline (which I can't take anyway since I want to nurse) I can take frankincense (has the highest amounts of the anti-tumor and oxygenating stuff) sandlewood, clove, lavender or any other other essential oil w/ anti-tumor constituents and it should help (and has helped me!) shrink my tumor therefore lowering my prolactin. Not only does it do this for me, it also does it w/out the stuffy nose, nausea, higher/lower blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, depression, swelling, weight gain, vomiting, confusion, fainting, strokes, seizures, hallucinations, hives, constipation, headaches, unexplained aggression and/or unexplained desire to gamble and other side effects that you can get from Bromocriptine or Cabergoline .
*You have to be very careful where you get essential oils from. Lots of them (even those claiming to be 100% pure or therapeutic grade) are either synthetic or contain fillers, pesticides, weeds of other things that should not be in there. These things also make them a lot less potent and may cause allergic reactions! I did A LOT of research on this and that is why I go through doTERRA.

The results are in!!!
I went and got the mail today and my blood test results were waiting for me! I have been really excited to get them because since my last test I have started taking some herbal supplements and essential oils to see if they will help me. My headaches have pretty much vanished (I had them almost 24/7 before I started my regimen). I also have more energy and I have lost 8 lbs since then! Anyway, I opened the envelope and they have from 241 (November) to 201!!!! In October they were at around 225 and before I was pregnant they were around 120! Needless to say, I am very excited! The specialists told me the only way my levels would go down would be to have brain surgery or to go on prescriptions! I can't wait to see my specialists' and obgyn's faces when I tell them I lowered my prolactin levels while nursing on herbs and essential oils! Oh wait! I probably will never have to see those guys again because I am lowering my levels on my own!!! Completely naturally and safe with no stupid side effects! Plus they didn't have go in through my nose and drill a hole into my brain and cut a tumor out and then pull it out through my nose! I'm sorry I wasted all that money to see those guys! I guess if I hadn't I may not have had the motivation and determination to do it on my own! Call me Dr. Quinn :) For all of you that are interested here is what I have used to lower my prolactinoma:
Please visit my Facebook Group for more information on the oils I am using to support my pituitary. Thank you!
When using essential oils beware of their purity and content. Most of the stuff you buy at health food stores are not very pure or are completely synthetic. Personally I use doTERRA as they are the purest in the market w/ no fillers.

Taking Charge!
Today I took my little boy in to get his 6 months immunizations :( It was so sad! I hate it when he gets shots and he looks up at me with those big blue eyes as if asking why I am letting the mean lady hurt him again! I told my hubby that it is his turn next time! I swear even though he is only 6 months my happy sweet baby remembers the shot lady....as soon as she came in he looked very sad and got tears in his eyes. So sad! Anyway, we saw our family doctor to day and I asked him the question that has been on my mind for weeks. I told him I was between obgyn doctors and that I hadn't found a new one yet. I asked him if I needed to go through a doctor to get my prolactin tested or if I could just request it myself. He looked at me quizzically, smiled and said, "You can get one here, no problem. When you leave this room, go straight and you will see the sign that says "Lab" and they will do it for you." It made me feel very in control of my future and I liked it! I'm thinking I don't need an obgyn, I can do this on my own.....then again, a lab is one thing and an MRI may be another :) I figure if I pay for it, I should be able to tell them when to jump and how high, right??? I asked the lady taking my blood when I could expect the results. She said in a day or two. As soon as they come in the doc will sign them and they'll be in the mail! So nice!!! With my last doc I had to call and call and call and finally go in to get any of my results and ask for a copy and pick it up from somewhere else! I like this new sense of empowerment that I received today! From now on IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DO IT MY WAY OR IF YOU DON'T DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO DO I WILL PAY SOMEONE ELSE!
So, look for lab results in a few days and cross your fingers that they are good!!!

My essential Oil Regime
I have had several people comment and email me about my essential oil regime, so I am going to post it. The essential oils I use are DoTerra. They are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG) which basically means they are the purest on the market and the don't contain fillers or artificial ingredients that would dilute their active qualities. Anyway, that is one of the reasons I use them specifically. They also have really great blends of oils such as PastTense (which I use for my headaches). Here is my list and how I take them:
Frankincense (antitumor): 1-2 drops internally every few hours
rub it on my forehead and onto my feet a couple times a day
Balance Blend (balancing): Rub on my feet before I go to bed at night
PastTense: roll on my temples, forehead and/or neck whenever I have headaches
That's what I use and how I use it! Hope this can help someone! The website is: DoTerra Essential Oils
